Lift Every Voice: African Americans in Civil War Navies

Each year, Black History Month highlights the contributions of African Americans to United States history. Created in 1926 by historian and scholar Carter G. Woodson, it continues to serve as a month-long moment of reflection on the impact African Americans have had on academia, entertainment, sports, science, politics, and art. The National Civil War Naval Museum in Columbus, Georgia is proud to take part in this celebration. Although the museum, highlights these important contributions daily, they will commemorate Black History Month with a special guided tour and program, "Lift Every Voice: African Americans in Civil War Navies”.

Pine Mountain Trail Iron Braid 23-Miler Test your limits! Join us on our group hike where we will complete the whole 23 miles of the Pine Mountain Trail. We will begin our journey at the Country Store parking lot and end at the WJSP TV Tower parking lot. We will have snack and water stations set up along the route. A delicious lunch will be waiting for you at the halfway point. After we relax and refuel, we will then finish up the second half. You will receive a  t-shirt for completing the Pine Mountain Trail and a shuttle will take you back to your vehicle. A shuttle will also be available for those that don't want to continue on.
